Skill Development

first skill2 skill3 skill6

Government of India and various state governments have put immense emphasis on skill development under its Skill India project and determined to change the complete ecosystem to cater both domestic and international market. At present, only 10% of the total workforce in the country has received some kind of skill training (2% with formal training and 8% with informal training). Further, 80% of the new entrants into the work-force do not have the right opportunity for skill training. If we look at projections, by the year 2022, India will need 500 million skilled young professionals to cater its domestic requirements. The Government of India has set a target to skill 500 million people by 2022. Approximately 12.8 million people join the job market every year, Govt. has put in place a 10-year perspective plan to ensure that this target is achieved. The endeavors taken at both central and state government level is going to lead to a paradigm shift and make India a knowledge bank and international sourcing hub for its skilled and technical competitive work force.
